London Club Dress Code: What to Wear (and What Gets You Turned Away)

London's better doors are selective, and most refusals come down to a few avoidable things. Here's the short version.

The default: smart and stylish

Across the clubs we book, the code is smart and put-together. Some rooms leave space for individuality — a sharp blazer or a good leather jacket works — but the baseline is the same everywhere.

What gets you turned away

• Trainers, sportswear, shorts, caps and ripped clothing.
• Turning up late to a busy door without a booking.
• For all-male groups: arriving without a table. Mixed groups are preferred, and groups of guys are frequently refused without one.

The ID rule people forget

Bring valid physical photo ID — a passport or UK driving licence. A photo on your phone won't do, and minimum age is typically 19–21 depending on the club and night. Every venue reserves the right of admission.

The shortcut

A VIP table turns the door from a maybe into a yes: priority entry, a host expecting you, and reserved seating inside. For a group, it's the difference between the night happening and standing on Ganton Street.
